The £20m redevelopment of the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum will be completed this autumn. With an annual turnover of some £2.5m the Trust has the potential to have a major impact upon the region's cultural life.


HEAD OF MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
£32,000-£37,000 pa dependant on experience

We seek an experienced and imaginative marketing professional to make a major contribution to the future success of the new Trust that has recently taken over the management of The Herbert and two other attractions from Coventry City Council.

Leading a team of three you'll devise and implement a co-ordinated marketing & communications policy for all our operations and transform our relationship with our audiences.

EVENTS OFFICER
£18,907-23,749 pa (pro rata) dependant on experience
Fixed term until March 2009 (may be extended subject to funding)

We seek a, creative, highly-organised, self-motivated professional to research and programme a wide range of events including talks and workshops, music, theatre and dance performances.

You'll have previous experience of programming and delivering events

MUSEUM & GALLERY ASSISTANTS – VARIOUS POSTS
Full time (6 month fixed term), & part time (permanent)
£14,492 - £16,536 p.a. pro rata

We seek customer focussed staff for our popular city centre locations to join existing teams in delivering a range of services. You'll have well developed people skills and assist visitors from all backgrounds to get the most from their visit. A flexible, practical attitude is essential; basic IT skills are desirable. Regular weekend working is a feature of these posts.

People from ethnic minorities are under-represented in the museum and gallery workforce. Renaissance West Midlands, part of the Museum, Libraries and Archive Council’s groundbreaking programme to transform England’s regional museums, is supporting Diversity in the Workforce by funding 24 week work placements throughout the West Midlands region. As part of this initiative, it is offering an opportunity for a candidate from the Black or Minority Ethnic Communities to gain experience of working in the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum as an Exhibitions and Collections Trainee. You will have the opportunity to gain a range of collections management and exhibition experience to help develop a future career in the museum and heritage sector.
