Arts Development

Coventry City Council’s Arts Development Service is based at The Herbert. The Arts Development Officer provides advice and support to groups and individuals throughout the city with an interest in the arts. The Arts Development Officer can be contacted on 024 7683 2342.The Arts Development service is a partner in the Coventry Belgrade Mela, the Coventry Black Arts Forum, and has led on Coventry’s involvement with the Collide Festival 2005.

The sub-regional partnership of local authority arts services in Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire as well as Arts Council England, West Midlands, is currently developing initiatives in a number of arts areas. The Dance Development initiative is well underway with the recently appointed Sub-Regional Dance Facilitator now in post.

Coventry Artists Network – is exactly what it says on the tin. Meetings are held at The Herbert every two months and gives artists from all disciplines a chance to meet, exchange ideas and make valuable contacts. New attendees are always welcome.

Emerge Magazine – is a free newsletter packed with useful information on arts related funding, training, commissions and local opportunities, as well as local events and exhibitions listings.

The Emerge editors are always keen to receive information from artists and organisations wishing to have their events and exhibitions included in the listings, or those wishing to recruit individuals for involvement in specific projects. For further information contact info@emergemag.co.uk

Coventry Artspages – is a web based register of local artists, arts organisations and venues. The website is regularly updated and those wishing to be included can either download an application form from the website or call the Arts Information Centre on 024 7683 2310.
