Working with Communities

Young people record their own work on the Vibes urban music projectThe Herbert's Inclusion & Diversity team was created in November 2003. The team's main aim is to develop new audiences for The Herbert by working with local people who may not have been regular users in the past. Most of our work is project-based. Who we are

Stacey Bains is the Cultural Diversity Officer. Stacey works with people from minority ethnic communities who are currently underrepresented among the Herbert's visitors and in its collections and displays. You can contact her on 024 7629 4766 or email stacey.bains@coventry.gov.uk


The Vibes project team worked together to create a high quality music CD and exhibitionJack Shuttleworth is the Community Events and Exhibitions Officer. Jack works on a wide range of projects at the Herbert. He also works with priority community groups, helping them to organise their own exhibitions and events on arts and heritage themes.

Aysha Afridi is the Social Inclusion Officer. Aysha works mainly with children and young people, older people, people with disabilities and residents of Coventry's Priority Neighbourhoods.
