Inshuti - Friend*
The exhibition used a specially created graphic story about two boys, Hutu and Tutsi, facing the growing divisions of the genocide; supported by photographs of modern day Rwanda showing people at work, in gatherings and celebrations and a large range activities and resource books. Inshuti – Friend looked at how a country has to find a future and overcome past divisions. The activities were practical tasks which explored universal themes raised by Rwanda's story. The exhibition was designed to be welcoming to younger visitors and families with activities aimed at all ages, and a collection of other graphic novels and story books exploring real-world issues, many of which were appealing to younger children. * Inshuti means "friend" in Kinyarwanda, one of Rwanda's official
languages. For a more detailed case study of the project, visit the Resources page. |
