Current Projects
The
Herbert brings together an exciting range of opportunities under one roof.
The Herbert's outreach team is also out in the community, listening to
and working with local people. If you have an idea for a heritage or arts
project we would be interested to hear from you. Although it is not always
possible for us to get involved directly, we may be able to help by suggesting
sources of advice and funding.
We are already involving local people in a range of Herbert projects.
These are some of our current activities. To find out more about past
projects, click on Project
Archive.

| Transatlantic Slavery |
 |
| In 2007 there have been events and exhibitions
across the country to mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition
of the transatlantic slave trade. At The Herbert we have been working
with students from black supplementary schools to explore the legacy
of slavery through historical research and performance workshops |

in the 1960s and 1970s. |
