AUDIO COURSE STAR (Sound Technology And Recording)
Two courses running:
Ten Saturdays May 5th – July 5th 2008, &

Tutor : Den Hands
This course is aimed at musicians, home studio engineers and people with an interest
in recording to get to grips with studio equipment in a well-equipped, comfortable
digital recording studio on our new Yamaha mixing desk. The course covers microphone
techniques, noise gates, compressors, reverb, headphone mixing and multitrack
recording. After a successful end-of-course assessment students can hire our
studio on their own.
We hope also to run this course on Wednesdays later in the year.

Herbert Media offers one-to-one training courses on broadcast standard
edit suites and video production equipment. We train on Avid, Final Cut
Pro and Premiere editing software as well as DVC Pro or Beta SP camera
equipment and Arri lighting. Courses are tailored to suit your needs
and experience.

Photoshop for Beginners
January 22nd - 23rd 2008 (Tuesday & Wednesday) 10.00am – 4.30pm

Photoshop is the most flexible, creative software for making digital images and
is widely used by artists, designers and photographers. In this practical course
you will learn how to use Photoshop to manipulate and composite scanned or drawn
images using layering and masking tools and a wealth of special effect filters.
By the end of the course you'll be able to create your own artwork. We are running
this 2-day course in November, and again in January.

you. Cascading Style Sheets have now become the best way to layout a
web page allowing greater accuracy and easily enabling you to govern
how your text and images appear online by altering just one file. CSS
enables you to design and conform to W3 accessibility standards making
your site more accessible to everyone online.
Participants must have a basic understanding of web
page construction and layout and basic computer literacy.
