Roll of Honour

Do you have a relative or friend who was killed during the Blitz in Coventry and whose name is on the city's Roll of the Fallen? Do you have photos or film footage of the deceased? Do you have personal experiences of the Blitz, which you would be willing to share on camera?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then Herbert Media based at The Herbert, Jordan Well would love to hear from you for a forthcoming memorial film to be made about the civilians from Coventry who were killed during the blitz.

The Roll of the Fallen will be used in the film along with any photos or footage received and interviews carried out.

Recording is due to start at the end of July and the film will be shown for two months at The Herbert beginning in October. The film will later be stored in archives where it will be available for use by schools and community colleges.

Cllr Gary Ridley, Cabinet Member (Adult Education, Libraries, Sport & Leisure) said: "We are proud of the servicemen who fought and died for our country during World War 2, but we must also remember the many innocent people who lost their lives. The Roll of the Fallen and the film we are planning to make will serve as a lasting memorial to all war heroes and a useful educational tool for generations to come."

The project is a partnership between Coventry Archives, Herbert Media and Community based filmmaking group Nuneaton Moviemakers.
