The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is focusing on the long term development of our collections which explore themes of conflict, peace and reconciliation, as areas of key importance to the city of Coventry. Coventry's role as a city of peace and reconciliation stems from experiences during the Second World War and continues today through the lives and work of the people of the city.
Working in partnership with Wolverhampton Art Gallery, this collection development is supported by a Heritage Lottery Fund Collecting Cultures grant and will build upon our existing collection which includes works by John Piper, Laura Knight, Muirhead Bone, Peter Howson and Cornelia Parker.
