Banknotes, 1942 to 1945
2006 was the year I went travelling, which was a very big step for me and an important time in my life. I visited many far-off places including Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.

From the currency to the transport system, an awful lot really was 'lost in translation'. Despite this I would really like to return one day.

Banknotes, 1942 to 1945
These banknotes were issued by the Japanese Government during their occupation of Burma from 1942 to 1945.
They were kept by Robert Callow who served in Burma during the Second World War. The Japanese notes were used to buy the help and services of the local population during the war.
