In February 2011 we are opening our exciting new temporary exhibition about ancient Egypt – Secret Egypt. The exhibition is being developed by expert staff at the Herbert. We are borrowing objects from nationally important collections, including the British Museum, the Ashmolean and a mummy and coffin from The Manchester Museum.

Secret Egypt will contain nearly two hundred objects and challenges some of the enduring myths about ancient Egypt. We are inviting visitors to look at archaeological evidence to revaluate what they understand about this remarkable civilisation.
