Exhibitions to Borrow

The Coming to Coventry exhibition at the 2007 Vaisakhi festival
The Coming to Coventry exhibition at the 2007 Vaisakhi festival

The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum has three community history exhibitions available for local organisations to borrow. The portable displays explore the experiences of people from various minority ethnic communities.

The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum's portable exhibitions are based on the memories of local people from minority ethnic communities and cover a fascinating range of topics:

  • Moving Here - the experiences of people migrating to the West Midlands
  • Coming to Coventry - the pioneers of Coventry's South Asian community
  • Empire at War - Second World War memories from across the world

The exhibitions are ideal for:

  • Libraries and other community spaces
  • Schools and colleges
  • Places of worship
  • Marquees at community festivals
  • Community celebrations
  • Black History Month and Refugee Week events

The exhibitions are attractively designed with a wealth of photographs. They are in a freestanding banner format and are easy to transport and put up. Non-profit making local organisations can borrow them free of charge, subject to availability. To find out more about the exhibitions and to make your booking, please contact:
