"Working with the Herbert Art Gallery has provided the students with the unique opportunity to engage with creative and media professionals on a regular basis within the workplace. For year 9 students this has proved an invaluable experience." Matthew Connor-Hemming – Teacher, Blue Coats School & Arts College, Coventry.
Herbert Media provides in-house creative media training for students on Creative Media Diploma, BTEC National, HND, Degree and Post-Graduate courses. This can range from one day sessions to the delivery of complete units and all of our tutors have had enhanced CRB checks.
In our experience schools, colleges and universities are increasingly recognising the value of linking vocational qualifications to exposure to relevant work related environments which makes us an ideal facility to deliver training to your students. As we are also a creative productive and technical maintenance department our staff has a full understanding of the latest technology and practices and our museum and gallery setting allows cross-curricular projects that can incorporate creative media alongside visual and digital art, local history and the natural world.
In addition to training students we have also trained teachers and trainee-teachers and the types of in-house training we can deliver includes:
Our clients include City College Coventry, Warwick University, Blue Coats School, Foxford School and Community Art College, Bablake School and Connexions.
In February 2010 the in-house delivery of a BTEC multi-media course for Foxford School and Community Art College was runner up in the Most Innovative Project category at the West Midland's Renaissance Awards.
