Self-taught animator Samantha Moore, has been creating quirky animated documentaries for over eleven years. Her painterly digital animations explore real life and were described by Time Out as “visually arresting and beautifully effective”. Her career blossomed after she completed the animator in residence for Channel 4, shortly afterwards a successful Arts Council application enabled further development of her work.
She is currently working with the Wellcome Trust to explore the condition called Synaethesia. Synathesia is the joining together of sensations that are normally experienced separately such as hearing and taste, sufferers experiencing a taste when a word is spoken. Samantha will be working with music and audio visual Synaethestes to create animations based on their descriptions of the symptoms which will result in a sound and light performance by the New London Orchestra in Spring 2006.
