The sixth Coventry Open at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum promises to be an inspiring exhibition of creative talent. The exhibition was open to West Midlands and Warwickshire artists working in any medium, including painting, drawing, print, sculpture, textiles, photography and film.

All the work has been selected by guest judges who have awarded the Winning Prize of £1000 to an original installation by Marinos Thoma called Somewhere – Anywhere – Nowhere.  The piece brings another world alive to the viewer through thought-provoking images of derelict cars and places.  The audience is invited to think about a past which has been made obsolete by modern day technology and upgrades.  

Visitors to the exhibition will be voting on their favourite piece.  The winner of the Visitor Choice award will be offered the chance of a solo exhibition. Come and see the work the judges selected as the winner, and choose your favourite in this year’s Coventry Open.
