Coventry women

Godiva, by John Collier
Godiva, by John Collier

This topic uses the Discover Godiva and History galleries to explore the position of women in society.

The story of Lady Godiva is a key part of local identity, and learners who are new to Coventry will find this topic particularly useful. The literacy activities in the Discover Godiva gallery range from vocabulary work and listening comprehensions to giving and following directions. Activities in the History gallery include a comparison of daily routines today and in Victorian times, and an exploration of Victorian portraits.
