Life and Death in Ancient Egypt

Discover what life was like for the ancient Egyptians and learn all about mummification!


Schools programme:

Suitable for: KS2
Cost: £75 per session
Timing: 1 hour

Following on from the highly acclaimed Secret Egypt exhibition at the Herbert, the learning team are continuing their popular Life and Death in Ancient Egypt session as an outreach programme, to take place in the comfort of your own classroom. 

Life and Death in Ancient Egypt Active Learning Session

In this session pupils will:

  • Focus on life and death in ancient Egypt
  • Handle a range of real and replica ancient Egyptian objects from the Herbert's collection
  • Explore the ancient Egyptian's belief in the afterlife
  • Understand the process of mummification through engaging activities and costumed role play.

Bookings are being taken now for the new 2011-2012 school year. Sessions are available from September onwards. Each session can have a maximum of 32 children per group.
