HISTORY - Discover the decades since the Second World War.


Suitable for: KS2 

Timing: 1 hour and 15 minutes, including 30 minutes independent gallery time.

A trail around the Broadgate area is also available. Please note that the trail is self-led, and you may wish to make a pre-visit to check the route if not familiar with the area. 

Cost: £70 per session 
         £60 for Coventry local authority schools

From tiny televisions and teddy boys to massive mobile phones, this session uses original objects, costume and film to explore life in Coventry in the post-war period. Pupils will find out how the city was reborn after the Blitz and learn about changes in fashion, technology, work, leisure and population. 

Learning outcomes

Through attending this session your children will build on the following skills:

  • Improved speaking and listening skills through group discussion and interaction
  • A better understanding of chronology & improved knowledge and understanding of events, people and changes in the past
  • Improved knowledge and understanding of relevant materials
