Medieval Mystery

HISTORY - Exploration of medieval artefacts in three exciting locations within the museum


Suitable for Key Stage 2

Timing: 1 hr 30 mins

Staff - pupil ratio: minimum of 3 adults (1 per group)

Cost: £70 per session 
         £60 for Coventry local authority schools

Inspired by Coventry's early history and the museums collection of medieval objects, this session gives your pupils the chance to discover life in medieval times, whilst actively engaging with and handling real medieval objects.

Learning outcomes

Through attending this session your children will build on the following skills:

  • Improved speaking and listening skills, through group discussion and interaction of historic objects
  • A better understanding of chronology and improved knowledge and understanding of characteristic features of the period, societies and experiences
  • Improved knowledge and understanding of relevant materials
  • Improved ability to classify materials
  • Developing the use of historical enquiry through a range of sources
