Suitable for Years 2 - 6

Timing: Session lasts for 1 hour (including gallery time)

Cost: £70 per session
£60 for Coventry local authority schools

Immerse yourselves in the story of Lady Godiva - she was one of the richest and most important women in Anglo-Saxon England, but why do we in Coventry remember her as a local hero? Discover the origins of  her story and the truth behind the tales. This session takes uses evidence from historical sources, art, and artefacts to explore Godiva's famous ride and life in the Anglo-saxon period. We finish with some roleplay, recreating a Victorian Godiva procession scene in the courtyard of St Mary's Hall with costumes for the key characters.
