Discover your inner sculptor. During this session pupils will explore the sculptures in our gallery, focusing particularly on The Coventry Sculpture by Laszlo-Peri, learning about form, materials, scale & artist intention. Each pupil will be able to make their own creative piece, which they can take away with them. Pupils will be encouraged to discuss and question the way materials can be moulded and shaped, why artists may choose different materials and ways in which we can represent people through art.

Why not also visit our other art galleries & find out more about public art on our independently-led Sculpture Trail?

Learning Outcomes
Through attending this session your pupils will build on the following skills:

  • Improved speaking and listening, through group discussion and interaction.
  • Further consideration and evaluation of evidence.
  • Exploration and development of ideas in design, using qualities of different materials.
  • Increased knowledge about shape, pattern, texture, line, tone, form and space and how these elements can be combined for different purposes.
