Making a booking
All Active Learning Sessions and independent visits must be booked in advance, in order to ensure that the museum does not become overcrowded.
Step 1: Decide what you would like to book for
Step 2: Call the booking line with some possible dates for your visit
Step 3: If we are unable to answer your call, you can leave a message on our answer phone. Please leave your name, school, contact number and/or email address and we will get back to you as soon as possible
Step 4: After we have made contact and discussed your visit, you will recieve a booking form. Please ensure that you check, complete and return it to guarantee your visit
Step 5: Please download the appropriate Teacher's Resource Pack, if required
Step 6: If possible come to The Herbert for a pre-visit to meet with one of our Learning Officers to discuss your visit
Step 7: If you have booked an Active Learning Session your school will be invoiced after your group visit
Group size: Our Active Learning Sessions are designed for a class of up to 32 at a time. The museum can accomodate large groups in the building at one time when booked in advance. For school groups of more than 32 multiple sessions must be booked.
Health and safety: Basic risk assessments for our active learning sessions will be available to download from this website page soon. These are for your guidance only and will help you in preparing your own risk assessment. We welcome pre-visits from teachers, to make sure that we can meet your schools specific needs and requirements. Please email info@theherbert.org for further information.
