On Thursday 26 January 2012, the Herbert opened its doors to around 170 business people from Coventry and Warwickshire. After a selection of delicious canapés and sparkling wines the guests were greeted by Emma MacLellan, the Head of Development and Amrik Bhabra, the President of the Chamber of Commerce.
The guests where then treated to an exclusive tour of the George Shaw: I was ere exhibition by Rosie Addenbrooke, the Senior Events & Exhibitions Officer which proved more than popular, with thirty people or more per tour!
In the Conservation area the guests had an exclusive preview of what goes on behind the scenes of the art gallery and museum where Jane Pudsey, Senior Conservator was preparing watercolour paintings for the up and coming exhibition Wonderful Watercolours which begins at the end of February.
The event, aimed at developing commercial support from the local business community was a resounding success with many businesses taking the opportunity to sign up special meeting room and hire discounts offered on the night.
