In addition to setting up stuff and first line maintenance of gallery digitals (generally translated as switching it off and back on again) we in Medialand are busy teaching, producing, creating and advising through a broad spectrum of different projects.
Our current training programme includes teaching Year 9 Creative Media Diploma students from Foxford how to digitally promote their city, cajoling City College HND students into one day handing in a final assignment for their video unit and revealing to a small group of enthusiastic adults the studio recording arts of knob twiddling and fader pushing.
Speaking of the recording studio, those of you with diverse tastes will be delighted to know that the studio is currently producing an interesting mix of rock, bhangra, reggae, rap, barbershop quartet music and an NHS handbook.
Elsewhere, is media we're sinking our teeth into Herbert 2.0, digital arts and interactive design. Whilst in Filmland, we're about to commence pre-production on a film for the Community Drug Team, alongside producing three films with our compadres from Outreach.
Media team over and out.
