Stafford Castle
Stafford Castle dates from the period following the Norman Conquest in 1066. In 1813 it was rebuilt in a Gothic manner on the original medieval foundations. The Visitor Centre now aims to bring Stafford Castle to life, encouraging a 'hands on' approach to history. A collection of artefacts from archaeological excavations is on display and an audio visual area with film explaining the history of the castle.
