Warfare is perpetrated by adults but always touches the lives of children. In the last decade, an estimated two million children have been killed in armed conflicts, four to five million more have been disabled, and more than 12 million made homeless. Many more millions have been traumatised by the atrocities they have been forced to witness or take part in.
The Children in Conflict exhibition brings together eight contemporary artists whose work expresses concerns, and highlights the plight of children caught up in conflicts across the globe. Many of the artists have experienced at first hand the trauma of conflict and seen the devastating effect it can have on people's lives.
Artists featured within the exhibition include Martha Rosler, John Keane, Simon Norfolk, Guy Tillim, Laura Ford, Anthony Haughey, Emma Summers and Monika Oeschler.
