Face to Face

This exhibition features the work of photographer James Mollison and includes 30 powerful, large-scale portraits of our closest relatives – the apes.

Face to Face from the Natural History Museum features emotive portraits of gorillas, chimpanzees, orang-utans and bonobos and highlights the vitality and intelligence of these magnificent and threatened animals - our closest biological relatives.

Reproduced at over two metres high, each of the 30 photographs displayed tells a personal story and encourages us to consider our relationship with, and our treatment of the natural world. It does this by bringing us face to face with some of the individual animals that have been most deeply affected by the actions of humans.
