Nature is currently in a period of mass extinction, change is ever present as we struggle to reconcile the impact our species continues to have on others.
This installation provokes the visitors to question their own impact on Man’s closest relatives, opening up topics that often get over-looked. Exploring the themes of deforestation, extinction and animals in captivity, the artwork touches upon these hard-hitting subjects in the way of photography, and installation based sculpture.
The Herbert’s Natural History collection allows you to discover some of the UK’s most endangered species and what actions you can take to save them. This element of the installation/exhibition brings the underlying themes closer to home giving visitors the chance to relate to wildlife they would see in and around their back gardens.
