Century
In the 14th century, Coventry was the fourth richest
city in England and was known as the “capital
of the midlands".
Cloth was the most important trade at this time
and cloth dyed with woad became famous as 'Coventry
Blue'.
Magnificent buildings such as St Michael's Church
and St Mary's Guildhall were built. Lots of medieval
kings and queens visited Coventry.
