What's On

Awaken the Arts

Awaken the Arts is for anyone who likes to look at, learn about and talk about art!

On the first Tuesday of the month, explore some of the museums highlights with an informative spotlight tour led by our art education specialist Brian Scholes. The informal nature of the sessions makes them ideal for people experiencing difficulty with concentration or memory and their friend, partner or carer to enjoy together.

This week discover our newest exhibition Face to Face: Portraits through Time. Attendees will consider works by Thomas Gainsborough, John Bratby and Paula Rego, whilst questioning 'What is a Portrait?'

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Suitable for age 16+

£5 per person. To book your place please contact Stacey Bains on 024 7623 7537 or email

Don't worry if you can't make this month, we also have sessions in April, May and June.

* Face to Face, which is featured in the workshops for April and May, includes works of art from the National Portrait Gallery, The Courtauld Gallery and the Arts Council Collection as well as portraits from the Herbert’s own collection.
