Please ask at the Welcome Desk to find out which gallery this month’s talk will be taking place in

Our family-friendly art talks will bring a different gallery space or series of artworks to life each month, using animated talks and child-friendly language to help younger visitors to engage in a way that is meaningful to them.

Led by our expert learning team, these relaxed, drop-in talks encourage children to share their views and questions about the artworks they are introduced to, supporting them with their own interpretations. We understand that interpreting art can sometimes be difficult for children, but our friendly staff are here to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to discover and enjoy the exciting range of work on display by local, national and even world-famous artists.

After the talk, you may also choose to explore the galleries further and take time to do some sketching or photography around the gallery spaces (where permitted) to help your children engage with our collections further.

Did you know that we are also an Arts Award venue, where your children can gain their Arts Award Discover or Explore? These are nationally recognised qualifications from Trinity College London. To find out more, visit our Arts Award at Home page.
