First World War Family Memorial Day
Join us to go back to 1918 for a day to commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War. Activities will include costumed interpretation, object handling and crafts.

Poppy Installation

Help us to build up a poppy installation in our Covered Court by adding to our collective display and have the opportunity to leave your own message of remembrance too.
Lanterns of Remembrance

Craft a beautiful glowing lantern in honour of those who have been involved in conflict, both past and present.
Treasured Tales; Women's Lives in Coventry During the First World War

Visit Coventry Archives for the book launch and talk by author Cathy Hunt as she looks at the experiences of women in Coventry between 1914 and 1918. Here she covers the great range of work that women were involved in, from munitions production and public services to nursing, welfare and policing.
Have a look at some of our WW1 archives from the collection, and ask our archivists about to discover your own family history and possible links to those who lived through WW1.
Forgotten Soldiers Indian Dance Performance

United in their mission to support the Allies’ war effort, more than a million Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and Gurkhas fought on many fronts, earning over 9,200 decorations, including 11 Victoria Crosses. More than 74,000 sacrificed their lives.
Dancer Lakshmi Shrinivasan will be performing traditional dances and sharing the true story of the soldiers .There will be an interactive dance for peace, world friendship and harmony involving the audience members.
We hope you will join us for this special commemorative performance.

Lest We Forget is a community exhibition of creative response to research around the stories of the home front, Passchendaele and the local WW1 effort in Coventry, funded by the Heritage Lotery Fund.
