Designed for age 50+, but all are welcome

Join us for an informal discussion and exploration of our visual arts collection, led by our arts education specialist, Brian Scholes. These sessions are designed specifically for people experiencing difficulty with concentration or memory loss, to enjoy with their friend, partner or carer, but all are welcome who have a passion for art and would like to gain a deeper understanding of our collections at a relaxed pace.

We will offer a safe space for you to enjoy relaxed time together to study our visual arts collections, with the support and encouragement of our team. We do not expect all participants to actively join in with conversation, but they are welcome to if they feel comfortable doing so. We welcome questions, knowledge sharing and your suggestions for future Awaken the Arts sessions, so if you have a particular art piece you would like us to focus on, please ask and we will include this is future sessions.

Awaken the Arts is a monthly event, and we encourage visitors to return each month to explore new art works and exhibitions with us. New faces are also always appreciated, to grow the community of people who want to engage with our collections. As a returning visitor you will benefit from building relationships with like-minded people and finding a sense of place in our museum.

Group bookings for these sessions are also welcomed and can be arranged for a date and time of your choosing. If you are a community group leader who would like to book an Awaken the Arts session as a more suitable time for your groups, please contact Lisa Ford, Learning and Engagement Manager: lisa.ford@culturecoventry.com
