Mothers Who Make: Online

Mothers Who Make is a growing international initiative and peer support network aimed at supporting mothers who are artists - professional and/or passionate – writers, visual artists, actors, dancers, musicians, film-makers, producers, gardeners, jewellers, academics… every kind of maker is welcome, and every kind of mother - biological, adoptive, step, surrogate, foster, grand, great grand, to be...

Mothers Who Make is not a child centred play session or an adult only event but a third way - an adult centred group which welcomes children. Children of any age are encouraged to attend and are integrated into the meeting, for the dual roles of mother and artist are recognised and given equal value within all MWM events. Toys are provided.

The Coventry hub was founded in May 2019 by Jessica Timmis and Adele Mary Reed and is now run by Adele. It takes place at The Herbert Museum & Art Gallery every last Saturday of the month. Since its inception the hub has also been delighted to partner at different times with The Pod - Coventry and Coventry Biennial of Contemporary Art to stage opportunities and events.
