The Year of the Tri-s 3025 is the second part of a continuing series by artist Victoria Murrain, exploring the emotional and spiritual connection between characters, flowers, and triangles. The numbers in the title are deeply symbolic — 2025 marks 30 years since her brother’s passing and 25 years since her mother lost her battle with cancer. Through this body of work, Victoria reflects on grief, memory, and strength, transforming personal loss into visual celebration.
Flowers appear as symbols of her mother’s love for nature and growth. The characters she paints are inspired by her childhood memories of watching cartoons and playing video games with her brother. The recurring motif of the triangle represents unity and spiritual strength — a shape she believes connects her with her loved ones and embodies resilience.
Rendered in her signature blend of Afro-expressionism, Neo-expressionism, and graffiti, these paintings merge vibrant colour, emotion, and texture. The Year of the Tri-s 3025 invites viewers to experience healing through art — a testament to how creativity can transform pain into power and remembrance into beauty.
