Degas and his Contemporaries – Performance in Art with Tutor Fran Nott

This course will look at the everyday life and career of Degas and his place in French Impressionism as well as the social and political events in 19th Century Paris.

It will also look at his contemporaries such as Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley, and Morisot.

The second part of the course will look at performance in Art. This will focus on the night life and social scene in Paris comparing how the Impressionists represented the entertainment at the time.
