Textiles in Art – A Practical Workshop with Tutor Jan McGranaghan

Grayson Perry uses his work to explore ideas of taste, class and social mobility. There are many other artists such as Judy Chicago and Tracey Emin who have used textiles as the medium for social commentary.

This course will look at some of the radical ways textiles have been used in modern art and explore techniques and processes artists use including digital image transfer.

The course will include a tour of the Greyson Perry exhibition.

Students are welcome to bring their own personal resources to work from (documents, photographs, memorabilia etc.) but all materials and equipment will be provided.
