Book Launch: ‘The busiest town in England' - Coventry and the Great War
On the 100 year anniversary of the Battle of the Somme, local author Pete Walters will be launching his new book Coventry Remembering 1914-18
To celebrate the launch of his new book, Pete will give a public talk ‘The busiest town in England' - Coventry and the Great War.
Coventry's suffering in World War Two has over-shadowed the city's extraordinary contribution to the nation's war effort in ‘the war to end all wars’, a generation earlier.
It is a story both inspiring and revelatory, tracing the city's rise to become one of twentieth century Britain's most important industrial dynamos. This talk will explore the experiences of the men and women who made it happen.
The talk will be followed by a book signing by the author.
Coventry Remembering 1914-18 is highly illustrated with 80 images and will retail for £12.99
