Dippy in Coventry

To celebrate the arrival of the nation’s favourite dinosaur, Dippy, arriving in Coventry, on loan from the Natural History Museum, our Learning and Engagement Team have developed new schools content to enable pupils to make the most of their experience when encountering the 26-meter long Diplodocus carnegii skeleton.

Our workshops for schools are highly interactive and inspire unique learning experiences. We use museum objects to reveal history and through the experiences pupils will encounter with our natural history collection, they will build up a deeper understanding of pre-historic life through cross-curricular investigation.

The following facilitated workshop is available for KS2 pupils:

Fascinating Fossils

Self-led visits for schools:

If you are planning a school trip or a visit for more than 10 people, please contact our Visitor Experience team by emailing ctm.info@cvlife.co.uk. We recommend you allow a double-slot of 30 minutes to explore the space with your class. During this time you can complete the Fossils and Folklore trail, which is free of charge and available within the exhibition space.

Dippy School Visit Gift Bags:

We can also offer students goody bags to visiting students. There are two options available open to schools for both facilitated and self-led tours:

Option 1 - £3 per unit - Includes Dippy pen, pin badge & a stacker crayon
Option 2 - £5 per unit - Includes a small note pad, a Multi writer pen, eraser, pack of colouring pencils & pencil, colour in diplodocus & a dino word search

Please include your request when booking your visit.
