Visiting

Long Gallery

This gallery features sculptures from the museum's collection. Many of them are representations of people, such as the head of Rabindranath Tagore by Jacob Epstein or Old Ladies on a Park Bench by Jack Greaves (a favourite with visitors), while others are more abstract shapes. One of the star pieces is the bronze by Barbara Hepworth, titled Figure (Walnut).

For Families

With large scale sculptures to walk amongst, families can enjoy both abstract and figurative pieces of all shapes and materials.

Why not use these as starting points for discussions; what are the sculptures made from or can you count the shadows they cast? There is also a space set up nearby for colouring and reading.
