Venue: London Road Cemetery: Paxton's Arboretum

Designed by famous architect Joseph Paxton, London Road Cemetery is an early example of the Victorian ‘garden cemetery’ movement, developed not only as a burial site but also as a place of natural beauty. The raised promenade and old cemetery entrance have been restored and new interpretation tells the stories of the site’s residents and natural heritage. Those buried in the cemetery include most of the city’s pioneers of transport, especially in the emerging bicycle and car industries.
