Art Masterclass: Sculpting with Modroc
Get messy with this versatile material!
Using items inspired by ‘Magic and Mischief' from our permanent collections, your child will learn how to use this versatile material to create a sculpture to take home.
Designed for age 8 – 14
This half term we will be getting messy with Modroc in our latest Art Masterclass instalment. Using items inspired by ‘Magic and Mischief' from our permanent collections, your child will learn how to use this versatile material to create a sculpture to take home. A member of the learning team will support your children to develop their ideas for their sculpture, create the base structure using newspaper, tape, wire and foil, before adding layers of Modroc to complete their work. Their finished pieces will need 24 hours to dry but can be taken home on the day. Once completely dry the sculptures can be painted as desired, meaning you can continue the fun and learning at home.
Our series of art masterclasses are fantastic for encouraging creative minds and enhancing the skills of budding artists.
Did you know we can support your child to achieve their Arts Award Discover if they are aged 5-11? Taking part in our school holiday activities and visiting our exhibitions helps them to do the majority of the work needed to complete their award.
