Led by Rosamund Bartlett, this lecture tells the Ukranian story by exploring the shared culture that connects its people. As well as tracing the country's complicated history, the talk will explore Ukrainian folk culture, ranging from Cossack dancing and Hutsul 'red icons' on glass, to the secret codes embedded in the country's ancient embroidery tradition, which have exerted a surprising impact on modern painting and contemporary haute couture.

Doors open at 6.30pm ahead of a 7pm start. Entry is free to members, £10 on the door for non-members or £5 for students.
