Discovering Fossils: A close encounter with the collection

Join curator Ali Wells for an interactive exploration of the fossils in our collection

A large segmented fossil from the Herbert collection - but you'll have to join the talk to find out what it is!

Free | Book on the day at reception

Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Designed for ages 7+, but all are welcome.

Alongside the arrival of Dippy the Dinosaur from the Natural History Museum, this free, interactive talk offers a closer look at some of the fossils in our permanent museum collection. This will be a rare opportunity for families to discover some of our stored objects and find out what Warwickshire would have been like in the time of the dinosaurs.

As well as hearing the story of our star fossil, an ichthyosaur skull found in Warwickshire, you'll also be able to ask questions and gain an insight into the working life of a museum curator.

Spaces limited to 20 per session, bookable on the day at reception. We regret that we are unable to take advanced bookings for this activity. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment and enjoy our museum galleries, craft activities and Dippy display while you wait.
