Join us to celebrate the 100th birthday of world-renowned Serbian artist Milorad-Bata Mihailovic (1923-2011) with a special anniversary talk and viewing of his "Belgrade" painting at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum.

Led by our Curatorial Manager Martin Roberts, the talk will explore the artist's life and the history behind the painting, which was gifted to the city of Coventry in the 1950s.

Belgrade, Serbia is one of Coventry's 26 twin cities worldwide. Pioneered by Coventry, the twinning project began in the aftermath of the Second World War as a means of promoting international peace and reconciliation. Coventry and Belgrade formally twinned in 1957, having enjoyed a close and fruitful socio-economic relationship since 1950.
