To celebrate Dippy, the Nation’s Favourite Dinosaurs, being at the Herbert for 1 year, we are throwing a BIG Dippy Birthday Bash.
There will be multiple activities available throughout the day to join in with; fossil handling, curator talks, craft activities and exciting performances, there will be plenty to keep your whole family entertained!
Oh... and did we mention there will be cake?!
* Please note that guests need to book a FREE ticket to The Big Dippy Birthday Bash to gain entry to the day event. Once inside, each activity is drop in and does not need to be booked in advance.
Dinosaur Experiences: 10am - 3.15pm

We are delighted to welcome the return of Dinosaur Experiences as part of the festivities! Meet Dippy’s Dino-pals , including Bronwen the Brontosaurus, in a live, interactive show, that is guaranteed to be ROARsome!
Our Dino-friends will be making appearances throughout the day, at various intervals, including:
10am – Baby Dinosaurs
10.45am – Velociraptor
11.30am – Brontosaurus
12.15pm – Velociraptor
1.15pm – Brontosaurus
2pm – Velociraptor
2.45pm – Brontosaurus
3.15pm – Baby Dinosaurs

Join our Learning and Engagement Team as they share their favourite Dinosaur stories with our younger visitors. Sessions are interactive and use sensory resources to bring them to life.

Skull Secrets: 10.30am - 3.30pm

Join scientists from the University of Warwick to learn about what makes skulls special, and how we can learn so much about how Dippy lived just by studying his skull.
Become a Junior Archaeologist: 10.30am - 3.30pm
