What's On

Heritage Storeys

Heritage Storeys is a Virtual Reality storytelling experience where you can travel through time in a lift and immerse yourself in a series of compelling historical stories.

Travel through time and experience the power of interactive storytelling through our Virtual Reality Heritage Storeys. Immerse yourself in the 175 million year journey of the Herbert’s ichthyosaur skull. Trace its route to Coventry from discovery in a quarry back to this giant marine reptile swimming around Warwickshire’s Jurassic seas.

Each experience lasts approximately 3 minutes, and includes a survey at the end. But you don’t have to limit yourself to only one experience – return as many times as you like and choose a different storey! As the doors slide open, a fully explorable scene is revealed – from oceans to battlefields and Bronze Age settlements.

Heritage Storeys is a prototype Virtual Reality experience that explores the power of immersive storytelling in relation to museum collections. Its aim is to not only to recreate collection items for a broader audience, but to bring objects to life.

Designed for age 13+

Each experience involves wearing a VR headset and lasts about 3 minutes
