We are absolutely delighted to welcome movement artist Mary Savva to lead an inclusive workshop for this month's hub meet for all abilities which will use writing, drawing and movement to explore notions of creativity and motherhood.

Mary is a dancer, writer, maker and mother based in Warwickshire with decades of experience. She has worked professionally in theatre, TV and film and is a freelance dance teacher in varied social sites and environments crossing genres and cross pollinating with other creative resources. Mary is interested in community dance making, re-appraising ideas on what dance is and can be. Mary completed a Masters Degree in 2015 with Merit in Dance Technique Pedagogy. Find out more about her practice here and at her website.

Tickets for this session will be £8.14 to cover Mary's artist fee, plus Eventbrite fees. Spaces are limited so please book in advance.

Mothers Who Make is a growing national initiative aimed at supporting mothers who are artists & makers, in any discipline and at any stage of their personal or professional making. It was started by Matilda Leyser (Improbable Theatre) in London in 2014 and has rapidly spread across the country. There are now 24 hubs in the UK.

Our reach is across generations and art forms – we are thrilled by the plurality of voices that are part of this discussion. In the groups professional connections have been formed and led to the beginning of joint projects between participants – so it’s a great way to meet and collaborate with other mothers from different creative backgrounds.

Every kind of maker is welcome- professional and/or passionate – writers, painters, performers, musicians, bakers, crafters, architects, historians ….

Every kind of mother is welcome- biological, adoptive, step, surrogate, foster, bereaved, grand, great grand, to be ….

Please feel free to bring along your children, of any age, whether they are inside you, beside you or running around the room. But equally just bring yourself.
