The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum has undergone a major redevelopment of its art gallery spaces and will be hosting a series of contemporary art exhibitions. We understand that interpreting art for children can be difficult, and a lot to understand, but that does not mean children should not have the opportunity to explore the wonderful creations by local, national, and world-famous artists. Our expert Learning Team are here to help and will be running a series of relaxed, monthly art talks, designed specifically for a younger audience.

You may also choose to explore the galleries further and take time to do some sketching or photography around the gallery spaces (where permitted) to help your children engage with our collections further. We are also an Arts Award venue, where your children can gain their Arts Award Discover or Explore, a nationally recognised qualification from Trinity College London.
