Make a Banner for Coventry

Be a part of the legacy project to Turner Prize 2021. Inspired by winners Array, we are inviting you to make a banner that sends a message to Coventry, which will be displayed in a public installation at the Herbert this summer.

One of the best-known prizes for visual arts in the world was held at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum as part of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.

For the first time, a Turner Prize jury selected a shortlist consisting entirely of artist collectives.

Winners, Array Collective, are a group of individual artists rooted in Belfast, who join together to create collaborative actions in response to the socio-political issues affecting Northern Ireland.

We are inviting you to make a banner, inspired by Array’s social action banners, that shares a message or design with Coventry; something that you are passionate about, which will be displayed in a public installation at the Herbert this summer.

Fabric for the banners can be collected from the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum’s welcome desk, or we can arrange to send this directly to you in you are unable to access the museum.

If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Haran, Community Engagement Officer: a.haran@culturecoventry.com
