Boudica Festival 2018

During 5 - 6 October, the Herbert played host to Boudica Festival 2018 - a celebration of women in music, film and arts.

The event started on the Friday with a music documentary movie night. Visitors were treated to a docu-double bill of 'The Ballard of Shirley Collins' and 'Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami'.

Suitably warmed up, the museum opened its doors again the next day and the stages were set for a musical extravaganza.

Two stages saw performers across the evening, with the museum's covered court & studio offering a treat to the eyes and ears.

Performers included rising stars Let's Eat Grandma, the sensational Mich Cota, dazzling Nova Twins, psychedelic Spill Gold and the Indie Sue Say Me. Queen Zee rocked out the studio stage and DJ duo Savages span the finest tunes in the court below.

The night was a great time for everyone involved and plans are already underway for Boudica 2019 - more info to follow in the coming months - we hope to see you next year for an even bigger Boudica Festival.
